TOM BOTT

Tom Bott plays troubled ex-soldier Darren, who is looking for his own identity after returning from war. Having studied acting for 2 years Tom Bott has gained considerable experience in front of and behind the camera, with his debut role being in 2009's SHANK.

GEORGE NEWTON

Well known for his roles in Shane Meadows' THIS IS ENGLAND and DEAD MAN'S SHOES, George Newton plays much troubled character Robert. George's acting career began when he was spotted by his agent in a post office in Sheffield. Not long after, Shane Meadows cast him for the part of Gypsy John in DEAD MAN'S SHOES and off the back of this, Shane cast him again for the part he is probably most famous, that of Banjo in THIS IS ENGLAND.

MHAIRI CALVEY

Mhairi Calvey, who plays neurotic, middle class Ruth, began her acting career aged five when she was cast as the Young Murron in Mel Gibson's BRAVEHEART. In 2015 she will play Scottish heroine Flora MacDonald in Jacobite drama THE GREAT GETAWAY and has recently completed filming on sci-fi film ABDUCT.

AARON JEFFCOATE

Aaron Jeffcoate has been seen widely on UK TV in SHAMELESS, DOCTORS and SURVIVORS, as well as playing lead roles in many short films. In FIVE PILLARS Aaron plays Gary, a young and potentially violent thug with an intolerant streak.

ADAM PROBETS

Adam Probets studied at Calderdale College and had a stint with Stage 84 before working on FIVE PILLARS. He has recently worked on EMMERDALE and a number of TV commercials. In FIVE PILLARS he plays Paul, a university student with a dark secret.

SARAH JANE HONEYWELL

Sarah Jane Honeywell plays battered housewife, Carla. After starring in CATS in the West End she worked in a number of other musicals before securing a role as a presenter on children’s TV channel CBeebies. More recently she has begun to work in film and stepped into her brief role in FIVE PILLARS after working with on-screen husband George Newton on another feature.

RACHEL LUCY

Rachel Lucy plays Sophie, a university student with a difficult responsibility to bear. Since graduating with a degree in Drama and Theatre Rachel has worked as a performance actress for both stage and screen.

MIKE KREMASTOULES

Mike Kremastoules plays Graham, a reclusive grandfather with a secretive past. With an acting career that spans over twenty five years, Mike Kremastoules has gained a range of valuable insight across film and television, including work on INSPECTOR MORSE, CLOCKING OFF, AND HEARTBEAT.

RICK BITHELL

Rick Bithell plays David. Co-owner of northern theatre company TROUBLEHOUSE THEATRE, Rick was born in Bolton and studied for his first degree in Lancaster before completing a Masters degree in Wigan.

Charlie Glossop plays teenage tearaway Billy. Charlie has featured in the BBC drama WATERLOO ROAD. As well as starring as Billy in FIVE PILLARS he is due to play in feature film PLAY JUDAS as a well as a short film called SHERWOOD FORESTERS.

AMIN ALI, ISHMAEL

Amin Ali plays Ishmael, a young Asian teenager. Since working on FIVE PILLARS he has worked alongside Christian Bale and Ridley Scott in EXODUS: GODS AND KINGS, as well as completing a number of short films and modelling shoots.

SAMEER BUTT

Sameer plays Yusuf. Sameer lives in Rotherham. He has worked with local theatre groups on shows such as THE THREEPENNY OPERA, A CLOCKWORK ORANGE and OTHELLO, in which he played the title role.

JENNY HAYWARD

Jenny Hayward plays a doting mother. Jenny Hayward trained at the Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama. This was followed by repertory and touring theatre seasons in which she played leading roles in JANE and TWELFTH NIGHT interspersed with film and television work in established dramas such as BROOKSIDE, TENCO, THE CONSULTANT, NEVER THE TWAIN, THE LABOURS OF ERICA and THE BILL.

AINE RYAN

Aine Ryan plays Rachel, a supportive friend to Sophie. Aine is currently in her final year of study for a B.A. in Theatre and Performance at Goldsmiths, University of London.

JON ROSLING, WRITER / DIRECTOR

Jon Rosling worked in education before changing career. After writing and directing several short films and music videos, FIVE PILLARS is his debut feature film.

ROB YEOMANS, PRODUCER

Since graduating in Film & Media Production from Sheffield Hallam, Rob has worked on a number of short films as well as establishing himself as a dependable freelancer in the UK film industry, working on films such as THE IRON LADY.

DAVE S. WALKER, SOUND & MUSIC

Dave is a multimedia sound engineer and musician based in the north of England. After starting out on short film audio, Dave has moved into the world of corporate and creative video, working with diverse clients as Sky Art, Sony and Valve. His first feature film, ENTITY, was released in the United States recently.

PHIL SYKES, FIRST AD

Phil got his first break in film as prop maker on Ray Wilkes' British indie horror MOLLY CROWS. He was spotted by actor GEORGE NEWTON who recommended him for FIVE PILLARS.

VICTORIA ROBERTS, HAIR & MAKE-UP

After attending Arts College, Yorkshire-born Victoria Roberts, bypassed university and instead took to band and comedy club management alongside a part time career in providing make up services and tutorials. Her past credits include music videos, editorial and fashion shows as well as providing bridal, prom and beauty services from her salon in Sheffield.

MAY JOHNSON, PRODUCTION DESIGN

May’s fascination with sets and prop design – encouraged by watching DVD extras in her younger years – led her to study TV & Film Set Design at the University of Glamorgan. While studying she had high profile work experience with Lime Pictures, Nickelodeon and ITV Studios on programmes such as HOLLYOAKS, HOUSE OF ANUBIS and CORONATION STREET. Currently May is working on the BBC's hit series DOCTOR WHO.
